PixelTools hueShift DCTL
The is a professional-grade look-development tool for DaVinci Resolve Studio designed to manipulate color using high-fidelity subtractive saturation and density . Unlike standard digital saturation that can make colors look "neon" or "electric" by increasing luminance, hueShift mimics the behavior of physical film by darkening colors as they become more saturated. Core Features & Functionality
. It mimics filmic properties by reducing luminance as saturation increases, preventing the "digital" look often caused by standard saturation tools. PixelTools Key Features Subtractive Saturation PixelTools hueShift DCTL Plug-In.zip
Support:
For bug reports or feature requests, please contact support@pixeltools.dev. Open the OpenFX panel (OFX) -> DCTL
Greenery/Nature:
Shift yellowish greens to a deep forest green for a "filmic" look without making the grass look neon. Open the OpenFX panel (OFX) ->
Dedicated Skin Tone Controls
: Easily tune skin tones independently to ensure they remain natural while pushing the rest of the grade.
shot-level work
The plugin was originally designed for —fixing specific color issues in individual clips. It was developed in collaboration between PixelTools and color scientist Kaur Hendrikson to provide a "filmic" approach to color manipulation.
PixelTools hueShift vs. Native Resolve Tools
- Open the OpenFX panel (OFX) -> DCTL.
- Drag the PixelTools hueShift effect onto a node.
- Alternatively, if accessing via LUTs, right-click a node > 3D LUT > PixelTools_hueShift (note: DCTLs applied as LUTs may not have UI sliders).
