- The Engine: Depending on the mod version you’re using (look for the excellent freeware or payware packs by Studio Polygon or OmsiWeb), you usually get the quiet, torquey Volvo D8K or D11 engine. It isn't a race car, but it pulls hills surprisingly well for a bendy bus.
- The Gearbox: The ZF EcoLife gearbox simulation is smooth. Shifts are subtle compared to the jerky Voith in a Mercedes. This makes for a much more relaxing drive on long motorway stretches.
- The Turning Circle: This is the challenge. Driving the 8700 Link through a tight old town center is a white-knuckle experience. You will clip the curb with the trailer axle. Mastering the "blind spot" of the articulation joint is the key to becoming a pro.
