Over-compression of FMVs (Full Motion Videos): The epic intro and character endings are re-encoded to sub-VHS quality (256x144 resolution, 15fps, heavily blocky).
Audio Downsampling: The heavy metal soundtrack and iconic "Toasty!" screams are dropped from 44.1kHz stereo to 22kHz mono or 8-bit audio.
Dummy File Removal: Many PS2 discs have padding files to push data to the outer edge of the disc for faster reading. These are deleted.
Ripping out other languages: Leaving only English voice/text.

File Size Reduction: Compressed versions range from 300 MB to 700 MB (up to 85% smaller).
Portability: Easier to transfer via USB or cloud storage.
Emulator Compatibility: Works with PCSX2, AetherSX2, and Play!
