Since 1.12.2 uses the (pre-1.14 light overlay system), the Fullbright effect is achieved by editing lightmap files, not shaders.

  1. Create a folder named Fullbright Overlay 1.12.2.
  2. Add pack.mcmeta and assets/ folder inside.
  3. Place the white 16×16 PNGs in the correct path.
  4. Zip the contents (not the outer folder) into Fullbright Overlay 1.12.2.zip.
  5. Move ZIP to .minecraft/resourcepacks/.
  6. Activate pack in Minecraft 1.12.2 → Options → Resource Packs.

Step 4: Apply the pack
