A dedicated executable script designed for specific ThinkPad models (T440p, T450, W540). Software (setup_var): Low to Medium risk
- Software (setup_var): Low to Medium risk. At worst, you set an invalid offset, and the system fails to POST. Fix: Unplug AC and battery, hold power button for 30 seconds (drains capacitors), and remove CMOS battery for 1 hour. The CMOS reset usually reverts the bad variable.
- Hardware (SPI Flasher): High risk. If you flash a corrupt BIOS, disable the Intel ME region incorrectly, or lose power during erase, the board will not boot. Fix: You must re-flash the original backup using the programmer. If you lost the backup, you must source a "clean ME dump" from a forum, which is very hard to find.
