Hitachi PC-KCA110

The (also known as the Hitachi H-1 ) is a high-performance USB finger vein biometric scanner designed to provide high-security authentication for PC and network environments. Unlike standard fingerprint readers, this device uses near-infrared light to map the unique vascular patterns beneath the skin, making it nearly impossible to forge or spoof.

  1. In Device Manager, check the device under "Ports (COM & LPT)". Note the COM number.
  2. To change COM port: Right-click device → Properties → Port Settings → Advanced → COM Port Number → select an unused COM port → OK.
  3. Test communication with terminal software (PuTTY, Tera Term) configuring the COM port, baud rate, parity, data bits, and stop bits as required by your device.
  1. Plug the PC-KCA110 into your computer.
  2. Open Device Manager (Windows key + X → Device Manager).
  3. Look for unknown devices or entries under "Ports (COM & LPT)" or "Other devices."
  4. Right-click the device → Properties → Details → Property: "Hardware Ids". Note the VID/PID string (e.g., USB\VID_xxxx&PID_yyyy) or model string.

Alternatively, you can also use third-party websites, such as DriverHub, DriverPack, or Softonic, to download the driver. However, be cautious when using these websites, as they may bundle drivers with malware or other unwanted software.
