Optimizing your GibbsCAM workflow starts with a rock-solid post-processor. Whether you are upgrading to a new machine or just received a custom file package, getting it installed correctly is the first step to error-free G-code.

1. Launch GibbsCAM.
2. Open your part file or start a new one.
3. Go to the Process menu (or Setup depending on your version/interface).
4. Select Post Process.
5. In the Post Process dialog, click the File button or Select Post.
6. Navigate to the Post folder directory.
7. Select the new .dll or post file you just installed.
8. Click Open/Select.

Before sending to the machine, run the output through a simulator like: Launch GibbsCAM

• "Post Processor Error / Failed to Load": This usually means the post was built for a different version of GibbsCAM. Contact your reseller for an updated version.
• Missing G-Codes: If the post runs but outputs generic code, you may need to edit the post logic. This requires advanced knowledge of GibbsCAM Post Processor development (contact support for this).
• "Access Denied": You likely do not have Admin rights on the PC. Log in as an Administrator or contact IT.
