Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk

(often referred to simply as Böhm-Bawerk ) was a titan of the Austrian School of Economics , a two-time Minister of Finance for the Austro-Hungarian Empire, and perhaps the most formidable critic of Karl Marx’s economic theories.

Born in Brno (then part of the Austrian Empire), Böhm-Bawerk studied law and political economy at the University of Vienna. Though he never formally studied under Carl Menger, Menger’s Principles of Economics profoundly influenced him.
