Method 2: Tool Palettes (The Premium Way)
- In the host file, type
INSERT.
- Click Browse and select your external
.dwg file.
- Check "Explode" – wait! Do not explode. Instead, uncheck "Specify on-screen" and set scale to 1.
- Insert it. It will appear as a block reference. Because it is now in the drawing, its definition is stored in the host file.
- Delete the inserted reference. The block definition remains in the host file (Type
BEDIT to see it).
